The Border Collie is a first class working dog, known by its ability to herd sheep and other cattle.
The present Border Collie decents from collies of the Lowland- and the Bordercountries of Englandand Scotland.
The BC comes from many different herding dogs, resulting in a great variety of types.
Only in July 1976 the standard for the breed was esthablished and approved by the FCI.
The Border Collie is a dog which can be trained in an excellent way and really needs this "mental" training.
Border Collies are not suited as home held dog alone and time and experience is needed to get and keep the dog in a perfect shape.
